DRB Training: Dispute Boards for Projects Using Alternative Delivery  Methods

Sunday, June 13, 2021 | 8:00am-11:00am | $150 Member | $250 Nonmember

Includes: Handouts, Coffee, .5 PDH

Dispute Boards have been an effective method for dispute avoidance and resolution of disputes since their origins in the tunneling industry in the 1970s. The process has since been adapted for a wide variety of project types above and below ground, as well as under different contracting methods. Workshop attendees will learn how the process has been adapted for success under Design-Bid-Build, CMGG/CMAR, Design Build, and Public Private Partnership contracts. Risk allocation and known friction points lead to modifications to the Dispute Board role. Lecture, case study, and interactive discussion will demonstrate how project owners, contractors, consultants, and DB practitioners can work together for successful outcomes.
