Have a question about registration, technical sessions, or conference activities? We can help! Below we have answered some of the most Frequently Asked Questions about attending RETC.


How do I register to attend RETC?

Registration for RETC will open Spring 2021. Both Attendees and Exhibitors will be able to register online. For additional questions, please contact SME Customer Service at 303.948.4200 or via email at cs@smenet.org or meetings@smenet.org. To receive the lowest registration rates, SME must receive your registration form and full payment by May 14, 2021. After May 14, 2021, on-site registration fees apply.

Sign-up for the RETC mailing list to receive all conference updates and to be notified when conference registration opens.

How can I register more than one person?

Need to register a group of people from your organization? Once you’ve completed your own registration, there is an option to “Register Someone Else.” Click on that link and add your colleague’s information. Payment will be processed for all included registrations after you’ve entered all participants.

How can I get a copy of an invoice or a receipt?

To download a copy of your registration receipt, please visit www.smenet.org, login to your SME account using your email and password, visit My Profile and view My Meetings. Click on View Registration to obtain a copy of your receipt. You may also contact SME Meetings at meetings@smenet.org or SME Customer Service at 303.948.4200 or cs@smenet.org with receipt/invoice inquiries.

If I preregister, when do I receive my badge and conference materials?

Due to local regulations, all attendees must be preregistered to attend RETC. Attendees who book in the official RETC hotel block at Caesars Palace will have their badges and bags (with printed and USB flash drive conference proceedings) delivered to their room. Attendees who live within 100 miles of the Las Vegas metropolitan area are also eligible to receive a bag and will receive instructions to set-up an appointment to pick up their materials. Attendees who elect to stay outside of the official RETC hotel block will receive their name badge and USB flash drive proceedings via mail before RETC begins. Bags and printed proceedings may be available for purchase for these attendees after RETC ends.

Printed onsite programs will not be available for RETC 2021. Please watch your email for instructions on how to download the conference app

What does my full conference registration include?

The full conference registration fee includes participation in all technical sessions, access to the exhibit hall and exhibit hall social functions including opening reception, exhibit hall luncheons and the exhibit hall reception. In addition, all attendees will receive a USB flash drive with the conference proceedings. Those attendees who elect to stay in the official hotel block at Caesars Palace will also receive an RETC bag and a printed copy of the full conference proceedings.

Are short courses included in the registration fee?

Short courses are currently in development and have not yet been finalized. These courses require an additional fee. Ticketed functions, such as the Monday Lunch and Tuesday UCA Breakfast also require a separate fee and can be added in the registration process. There is no field trip planned for RETC 2021.

What are the exhibit hall hours?

The exhibit hall is open on Monday, June 13 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Tuesday, June 14 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Wednesday, June 15 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.

When does onsite registration open for attendees?

While RETC will have staff available at an information desk during the conference, all attendees must be preregistered to adhere to local regulations. Attendees will have their badges and materials delivered to their hotel rooms or will be sent badges in advance.

Is there a one-day registration option for the RETC 2021? Exhibit Hall only pass? Spouse/Guest registration?

Due to limitations on the number of individuals allowed in the meeting space, there is no Exhibit Hall only registration option for RETC. Additionally, there will be no Spouse/Guest registration available for RETC 2021. RETC does not offer a one-day registration option either.

How do I change my address or other contact information?

To edit your contact information, please visit www.smenet.org, login to your SME account using your email and password, visit My Profile and view My Contact Information. Click on Edit button next to either your address or phone number to edit your contact information. You may also contact SME Meetings at meetings@smenet.org or SME Customer Service at 303.948.4200 or cs@smenet.org with questions about updating your contact information.

What is the refund and cancellation policy for conference registration?

If circumstances require you to cancel your RETC registration, you must do so in writing. Written notice must be sent via email at cs@smenet.org or meetings@smenet.org. Cancellations received on or before Friday, May 14, 2021, will receive a full refund, less a $100 processing fee. There are no refunds for no-shows and cancellations received after Friday, May 14, 2021. Registrants are responsible for cancellation of their own hotel accommodations. Substitutions will be accepted in writing at no charge until Friday, May 14, 2021. After Friday, May 14, 2021, a $25 fee will be charged for substitutions.

If any attendee must cancel due to the impacts of COVID-19, SME can offer additional flexibility. Please send a request via email and a member of the Customer Service Team will contact you.

Why should I stay at  the official conference hotel?

For the perks, of course! Attendees who book within the official hotel block at Caesars will have their badge and RETC bag delivered to their room for the ultimate in convenience. RETC bags will contain both the USB flash drive with full conference proceedings and the printed book.

SME has negotiated a special discounted rate at Caesars Palace exclusively for RETC attendees. This rate includes a reduced resort fee of $15 per night (normally $45/night). In addition, staying within our designated hotel room block allows us to keep your registration costs low and continue to negotiate competitive room rates for all conference participants.

How do I reserve housing for RETC?

To book within the official block at Caesars Palace and receive your conference perks, you must book using the online link at Hotel & Venue.

RETC is not working with any vendors to fill our housing block and any representation from an individual not directly employed by SME is not advised. Often these companies misrepresent their relationship with SME or RETC and offer a fraudulent rate or have malicious intentions. In some cases, their rate does not include the lowered resort fee. If you receive a suspicious call or email inquiring about housing, please notify RETC at meetings@smenet.org.
